RECIPE DATA REQUIREMENTS DOCUMENTATION

The following describes the required recipe data and formatting for proper ingestion into the Grocery Shopii system. To ensure the integrity of our platform and the shopper’s experience, we require data in a certain format. Please use this guide to ensure your recipe content is ready to be uploaded into the Grocery Shopii system. 

 

RECIPE TAXONOMY

Grocery Shopii groups recipe data according to the following categories to provide data consistency and legibility across multiple systems. 

 

Title/Description (required)
  • Title is the name of the recipe
  • Description is at most a three-line description of the recipe

 

Time (required)

  • Prep Time in minutes
  • Cook Time in minutes
    ​
    Serving Size (required)
  • 4, 6, 8, 10, or Family
    ​​
    Meal Category
  • Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch, Dinner, etc…

 

Cuisine Category

  • Italian, Mexican, Indian, etc…

 

Equipment

  • Grille, Crock Pot, InstaPot, etc…

 

Ingredients (required)

  • One ingredient per line
  • Each will need to have the following attributes
    • Quantity (1, ½, etc)
    • Measurement (oz, tbsp, etc…)
    • Name (grated Parmesan cheese)
    • Note (to taste, minced)
    • GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) if available

 

Steps (required)

  • All recipe prep or cooking steps will be in a numbered list with one step per line
  • Sections for recipe components can be defined, such as for a salad dressing

 

Images (required)

  • At least one image is required per recipe. This image will be the primary image for the recipe.
  • The meal must be the focal point of the image. Product placement is allowed but cannot be in the foreground​ or primary focus.
  • All images should have the following attributes
    • 4×3 or 9×16 aspect ratio
    • Under 5MB file size
    • 300 DPI if possible for potential instore print applications
    • JPG or PNG formats
